Chris Bloor and her husband Dave opened their garden once again for the Chair’s Annual Garden Party which was held on Sunday, 16th August. Bearing in mind the torrential downpours we witnessed on the previous Friday we were all very concerned as to whether the Garden Party would in fact go ahead but Saturday and Sunday turned out well and Sunday saw blue skies and even  glimpses of sunshine!

All of those who attended enjoyed tea and cakes on the patio and were able to try their luck with the raffle and on the tombola stall. The bric-a-brac stall sold well throughout the day and Marlene’s freshly baked cakes on the cake stall didn’t last very long.

The amount of money raised on the day was £510, which is more than last year. All of the monies raised will of course be put towards supporting those with and  those who care for people with, Diabetes and raising awareness of Diabetes across the North Staffs region. As the numbers diagnosed with Diabetes continues to increase being able to raise funds through our many activities is increasingly vital to our work.

Thank you to all who attended the Garden Party and thank you to all of our

volunteers who supported the event in any way; without this support such events simply wouldn’t take place.
