                            “Volunteers are Priceless”

This picture is dedicated to “ALL” our volunteers, the picture shows a small group of our army of helpers setting up our “Christmas Fair”. They only represent a small collection of all those who give their time so freely and are symbolic of all our volunteers. Ever smiling, hard working and a joy to be a part of, the people of Staffordshire thank you one and all for your generosity & dedication.                                       Jeff Parsons.

                                "Golden Wedding Celebrations".

Left – Our thanks go to Ray & Ann Withington for donating the very generous amount of £677:50p from their recent celebrations for their "Golden Wedding Anniversary". Ray and Ann invited many special guests to celebrate with them at the Catholic Community Centre, Newcastle under Lyme. The theme they selected was to invite as many guests as they could who like them spend their time working or collecting for charity. The evening was a fantastic event with a band playing selected music through the years starting with the 1940s and progressing to modern times by ending with a disco for the younger guests. There was an excellent buffet at half time, plenty to drink, be it alcohol or tea & coffee . Ray / Ann it was an evening to remember for everyone you did us all proud and it was a an honour to be a guest at such a friendly and wonderful event. I just hope we are included on your next                "Golden Anniversary" ????                                                   Jeff Parsons.

John Alcock with one of his winners cups. John entered into several of the competions laid on at the Stoke on Trent Festival and won one for his wine making and one for his garden produce, plus we believe he also won one for his home made cake.

Ray & Ann are seen receiving a certificate of "Thanks" from Jeff our chairman (2007). This was for the £677:50p donated by them from their party. Not wanting presents they had a cardboard box for guests to donate whatever they could afford. Between their guests, family and friends they raised this fantastic amount and then donated to those affected by diabetes by presenting it to their local group - "Diabetes UK North Staffs Voluntary Group". We all give you our grateful thanks for your generosity.

Chris Bloor our new Chair presenting a certificate of "Thanks to John & Murial Alcock on their "Golden Wedding Anniversary" They did not want presents and asked for donations, this raised the wonderful amount of £350:00.

Thanks to you both and we all wish you the very best for the future.

David (our secretary) and his wife Mel, both work really hard for the group and dedicate a lot of hours to organising and taking part in all our events.

Part of our team at the Quiz Night, these are put on and run by the Catholic Community Centre in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffs.         We are invited to attend every year and the proceeds are donated to Diabetes.
