Diabetes Update on Stem Cell Research.

As Reported in the Sun Newspaper 20.11.08 on it’s
weekly health pages and advice from doctors.

Diabetics do not produce enough insulin in the pancreas to control blood sugar levels - but they can now be freed from jabs by a one-off injection of their own stem cells. A team of Brazilian and US scientists found that patients began to produce insulin naturally after receiving transfusions of stem cells from their own blood.

OUR NEW APPEAL.............

I am putting out this appeal to ask if you (our readers) have any unwanted or unused items that you would like to be rid of? Items such as unwanted gifts, ornaments, pottery items, jewellery, small electrical items, etc. We are looking for items in good or nearly new condition to use on our stalls at fairs, tombola, raffles etc. All we ask is that the items are clean, in good condition and can be used again. We have in the past accepted such things as portable tv’s, radios, perfume, tools, car items, toys, etc. the list is limitless. If you  can help please contact any one of our committee members or ring the chairman or David on 01782 861690 to arrange collection, or bring to one of our meetings. We are getting desperately short of good items to use in our fund raising.
